Concept of businessman fired by the boss

As promised, I’m talking about fattening thoughts for a few weeks.

Here’s a really fattening thought:

I don’t care.

How many times have you told yourself that you don’t care
As you’re about to dive headlong into a binge?

Often, you’re angry about something or someone
Or you’re really disappointed about an outcome
And you just don’t want to deal with it
Or feel it
Or even acknowledge it.

So you tell yourself “I don’t care”.

I don’t care if I eat what I said I won’t eat.
I don’t care if I break my promise to myself.
I don’t care if I’m fat.
I don’t care about them.
I don’t care about me.

I don’t care.

Problem is. You do care.

You do care what you eat.
You do care about the promises you make to yourself.
You do care what they said.
You do care if you’re fat.
You do care about them.

And mostly.

You do care about you.

So when you lie to yourself,
it creates inner conflict,
which feels uncomfortable,
which leads to even more overeating.

Which is why “I don’t care” is a fattening thought.

If you want to lose weight,
Tell yourself the truth.

Be willing to feel the madness, the sadness, and everything in between.

Caring hurts sometimes.
But when you care,
That leads to caring for yourself,
Which includes feeding yourself nutritious foods in the right amounts,
Which leads to reaching your natural weight.

So, if you want to lose weight,
consider telling yourself the truth:

I do care.

Even when it hurts.

Because lying to yourself,
And telling myself “I don’t care”
Hurts so much more.
