Stay
Don’t leave
Stay
Don’t hide
Stay
No matter what you’re eating
Stay present
No matter how much you’re eating
Be there with you
Even if you’re breaking a promise you made yesterday
Stay with yourself
Even if you wish you were someone different
Don’t leave.
During my years of coaching and being coached
I have become convinced that our excess weight is due to one thing:
Abandoning ourselves while we eat.
It’s only when we turn our observant minds off that we eat too much food.
When we’re eating something we think we shouldn’t eat, or we want to eat more than our body requires, or more than we think we should have,
We leave ourselves.
Because we tell ourselves we shouldn’t,
And we don’t like to be told we’re bad.
So we run away and hide.
Our minds, that is.
Our body stays, with no guidance, like an unleashed puppy
And has no idea when to stop or how to choose.
When we stay fully, pay attention, notice what we’re eating, notice how our body feels,
we just stop when we’ve had enough. Or we stop when it doesn’t feel good to us anymore. Or when our body tells us this is not a food that will serve us.
Make a decision today
Repeat it as a mantra
Stay.
When you notice you’re about to run away because you feel an urge to eat
what you think you shouldn’t.
Stay. Say it. I will stay.
I promise you that if you allow it, you will eat less than if you leave.
Every time.
Stay with yourself
Just like you stay when you want to heal a relationship
Stay and heal your relationship with yourself
Simply by showing yourself that you’re always there
No matter what you do
You stay.
For you. With you. You Stay.
